CALL FOR ACTION-Projects COVID19

The European Commission-DG RTD has started to create a list of projects that could help in fight against the coronavirus. Especially the projects that can be directly exploited for combatting COVID-19 and its effects (firstly healthcare, and then for example transport, food, tourism, education, other sectors) within 12-24 months.

This is a request made in an urgent situation, but something like, for example, projects related to

mobile 3D printers which could help hospitals with spare parts (e.g. valves for incubation)

modular production lines which could fill a gap in the interrupted value chain

modelling or simulation capacities which could find out how the virus spreads

modular building components that could help build quickly medical facilities (similar to the hospital they built in Wuhan)

             something else that could help

If you think that your project could somehow contribute, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and I will forward your idea to the responsible directorate. Please include the following info:

volunteering ANTI COVID 3D PRINTING TASK FORCE

N95 type respirator is the critical protective equipment to save the lives of medical doctors and other medical professionals. The sufficient number of respirators is not available on the market which causes the situation of emergency.

CIIRC is currently developing own respirator and model for 3D printing. The prototype shall be ready for testing early next week. In case we are successful in tests, we will share the technical specification with all volunteering 3D printing labs for free to start the distributed manufacturing during this emergency.

If you are willing to cooperate, please add your name in this doc

Survey on AM Training Practices

SAM is a European initiative that aims to address the workforce development for Additive Manufacturing (AM) by developing a shared skills vision and collaborative learning solutions for the sector at European level. Please find more info at: www.skills4am.eu/
In this sense, we would like to understand and characterise the educational practices concerning Additive Manufacturing training in Europe.
The survey lasts for 8 to 10 min approx. It is based in three different sections:

·         Section 1: General info and background

·         Section 2: Existing training practices

·      Section 3: Training needs

If your organisation is involved in education and training at vocational and higher or levels, participate in the survey  and contribute for the mapping of Educational Practices in Additive Manufacturing.
